Kalbarri mackerel
gave the new tub it's first really leg stretching run today. Fresh NE forecast, so we stayed insde and didn't stop until we were past where I would normally stop. I haven't been up here since I finished crayfishing. Trolled for about 20 minutes before getting sliced up on a brand-new X-Rap 30--looked like a gang attack and one got the leader above the trace. So went around again and got the nice broadbar and dropped another. Went arond again, and got the Spaniard and dropped another. A few more missed strikes so we wandered off, scored the big gold spot a bit further north. I intended to go out wide up there when the wind dropped off--it didn't look like really dropping until just before midday, but we headed out wide anyway--mistake. Nothing but blue lines. Fished about 10 miles of ground out where most people never go, and couldn't raise anything worthwhile. To cap it off, we were cleaned up by bolt cutters on our last drop, so a good enough reason to head in. But a good day regardless

Well done truly blooding the
Well done truly blooding the deck. Anything out there with the sharp teeth can be a pain . I gather the bolt cutters were norwest blowies.
Good to see the boss out there getting in on the action as well

he had me going for a moment
We were trolling that deep diver in about 7 fathoms, and when I saw the big silver flash, thought we had our first Dhu he was speared back in none the worse for wear. Yes, bolt cutters are the local name for norwest blowies. My wife lost everything under the top swivel, and I was only one swivel better off. She's my number one fishing mate.
I should've stayed in the shallows, would have done better. And I had to listen to the Eagles game on the radio.

Its good when your wife
Its good when your wife likes to fish as well. Our boats we have had over the years have only hit the water without Sandy on about 5 times in about 15years of boating.
Used to cop them boltcutters out of dongara a fair bit
