Can anyone please tell me how far up the Murcheson you can take a small boat? I have only gone up as far as Castle rock, but I hear there is good fishing further up.

You used to be able to go up
You used to be able to go up about 2-3km more but i havent been that way in 15 years. Your probably better off in a 4wd and trecking up river. Most of the river further up isnt very wide and yea it can be good fishing up there. Also take a crab pot.
