Karijini to Marlin of Peak Sportsfishing Exmouth
Organised my annual Exmouth trip last year to coincide with the blue marlin season and somehow roped my girlfriend into tagging along. Have always been super keen to fish on Peak and while we only tagged one blue (GF dropped another close to the boat) it was an awesome experience and I'll defintely be back. Unfortuately didnt get as much footage of the my fish as I would liked (more interested in getting my first one tagged) but decent footage of the lost one. Between microflights, lightning storms, long walks on the beach, snorkelling ad cliff jumping managed to get out for a day to chase spangos inside the reed and had a ball on various species.

Cheers guys.My dad actually
Cheers guys.
My dad actually told me I looked 'too damned close to that bushfire' parked up wind, had the car running, last shot I drove into it and backed straight out, no danger.
Karijini is absolutely unreal, also if you have a 4x4 Mt Meharry highest mountain in WA is also well worth a look. Hard to beat exmouth as well, we went up in November and the town was pretty much empty of tourists.
I told the missus it's all good we'll head up this year and chase some sails, should be easy to get her billfish on the board, not interested, has to be a blue, OK by me!

Very good vid
Well edited. Wish we could catch spangled inside the reef where we are, but no chance between the sanctuary zone and the rest of it that has been flogged to death by the take-all dinghy fishermen. Did you shoot that in 4K or 1080?

WHere are you located? I
WHere are you located? I dont want to give away my secret spot....but we were straight out from the boat ramp haha, not on film but my girlfriend caught a 70cm one to finish off that same day. Shot in 1080P at 60FPS and cut down to 24FPS for the finished project. Can't see any need for 4K yet.

We camp at Winderabandi
June-July every year. Was good, once upon a time, when we first started going late eighties. Southern end of the sanctuary zone is on Winderabandi point, meaning Lefroy Bay is still open, but there isn't a lot of ground in there, mostly weedy until you get out towards then reef, then it is solid coral and still unfishable. It's really just squid ground now, and when they turn up they are mercilessly hammered until there are none left/moved on. You hear them bragging on the radio about taking an Engel-load of tubes home A lot of good ground inside the reef inside the zone to the north, but it's a good 10 miles to get into legal water again, up towards Boat Passage.
The dinghies used to anchor around the big lumps just inside the Lefroy bay entrance every evening after spangleds, , they don't even bother now.
I do my Gopro shooting in 1080 @60fps, edit in Studio, then usually save two copies--one in 1080, and another optimised (according to Studio)for Vimeo where I post. Your quality is very good.

Ahh yes, we used to camp
Ahh yes, we used to camp just south of Lefroy every year as a kid. I've caught more fish straight out from tantabiddi with no GPS than all of our fishing inside the reef near Lefroy it does get hit hard down there which is a shame.
I use Final Cut Pro and save 2 copies, one 'source' MOV file which is huge (7gig) and one smaller Mp4 file (500mg) to upload. Youtube murders the quality in my opinion and I was thinking of swapping over to Vimeo actually. I might upload the same file just for giggles and see which one is better.
