Karri Valley Resort, Pemberton. Any fish??

Hey guys heading gown to Karri Valley Resort next weekend, just wondering what the chances are of actually catching a trout as the resort is situated on Lake Beedelup. Anyone stayed there and fished before? Anyone caught a trout from there own balcony too? Will the trout down there take lures?

Cheers

take a tin of corn kernels. Put a couple on a small hook eg. no.8 long shank and suspend that under a small float.

Caught about 6-7 straight off the balcony of our room next to the restaurant whilst on honeymoon there a coupla years ago

Yep they take a variety of baits including bread, but quickest bites came from using insects.

If you want to immerse

If you want to immerse youreself in the scenery, hire one of the craft, and head diagonally opposite the untis and upstream. There's a small tributary that runs in with lots of submerged logs etc.  In half hour of fishing, caught 3 nice keepers the length of one of those white cutting boards, and let a few smaller ones go.  GREAT fun on light gear!

(like Matt says, corn kernels is the go for bait.)

Cheers.

Browny.

We fished off the jetty in mornings and evenings using corn.  Good success using the small baitchaser rigs and a small ball sinker.  Lie rod down with loose drag and wait for the run.

Stocked

G'day mate, the dam is stocked with little rainbows every year. I was doing some work there a few months ago and they released about 750 fish of about 25cm into the dam. I've had success with lures there, but as the boys said, corn kernels are very popular if you are using bait. They closely resemble the pellets the fish are fed in the ponds
