King George in School Holidays

Managed to duck out for a couple of hours yesterday with grandsons and again cleaned up on KG, an easy dozen 40cm plus thumpers. Young Jake (8) caught 2 and then caught and landed a nice gummy shark 1200 cm. Big KG in 5 meters of water is great fun.

KG's the king

Thu, 2017-09-28 18:02

Parents lived in Demark for nigh on twenty years,Dad loved to get the grandies in his boat chasing the KG's, always had a heap of fillets to bring up to the farm, just gotta luv 'em. The south coast fish always seemed to taste better.

 Warnbro sound, find some

Fri, 2017-09-29 09:08

Warnbro sound, find some broken ground 4-6 meters, anchor use hand full of chook pellets thrown out the back of the boat, squid bait althoigh someone suggested chicken pieces dusted in parmesan cheese, so tried it and it worked a 3rd of the fish caught on this. I also have red beads above the hhoks. Good luck.

Thanks Tom. Do you just have to deal with all the butterfish in that area? I've picked up 1 or 2 through there but the butteries drive me insane

Looks like the secret to

Looks like the secret to catching gummies is to go KG fishing - we've caught two in last two weeks fishing in the same area for KG's.

You're kickin us on average size though - have to find that honey hole.

One of the best eating fish in the sea IMO - the kg's that is.
