Lake Kununurra and Wellington Dam Fish Stocking
The WA Fish Foundation have been responsible for many fish stocking projects, the Barramundi in Lake Kununurra being one of them. I know a lot of fingerlings went into this water three years ago but havent heard any reports of how they are doing. Has anybody fished there to know if its been successful??
The next project for WAFF is the stocking of Wellington Dam which if suitable species are stocked could create a fantastic fishery within easy reach of the majority of anglers in the state, Lake Kununurra is a bit to far away for a weekend fishing trip. Now is the chance to voice your opinions on what you would like to see happen with this water. You can find the online survey here: http://waff.com.au/projects/wellington-dam-community-consultation-questionnaire.html
Lets hope some common sense will prevail and we can at last get some Australian species suitable to our climate stocked into one of our water ways.

Common sense and a government department Haaa Haaa Haaa
To use both words in the same sentence is a contradiction.
Until the dead wood that is still in the upper echelon of the water dept. moves on, as much as I support stocking in our dams and would love to see it happen I have grave fears that my life will expire before it comes to pass.
Problem stock our dams with a sporting fish and make a fantastic close to Perth fresh water recreational fishery.
Solution, pick a dark nighty and be pro-active.
I truly wish you guys the very best of luck
