Land Based Tarwhine

Ive found a spot north of ocean reef marina that is completly loaded with big tarwhine and I was wondering if any one has some advice on how to cathc them before I go have a crack at them.

generally you use the same rig as for other species but maybe put a bigger hook on the line, big mouths and great fighters

Use a running sinker rig as you would for bream etc. Baits can be peeled prawns, whitebait, cubed mulie or gulp sandworms.

we got some bigger one in

we got some bigger one in denmark with salmon rigs, like a sliding star sinker with a medium sized gan hook with a whole mulie, they were taking em almost every cast, most were between 30-40 and we got 2 over 40 and the two guys who had caught nothing for the entire night before we helped them out caught a 44cm one.
