if you buy your lures at tackle shop
they will point you in the right direction and give you tide info etc. Way to go.

landbased
While there I used eddy as well and had a ball
Landbased I went anywhere where the wind was behind me so for one week I was on the bundigie? side and the other on the national park side, I landed a honker at beach point at pilgumana and caught some snappers from neds camp all the way down to yardie creek .
The walk to the jetty is quite mean and so are the fish ( if only I could work out this phone I'd post a pic )
I mainly used nomad and blackjack poppers/uluas/skipjacks and the good old metal slice with a couple of runbohs ( make a note to buy these lures theyre like GT Lollies for when you are in the boat )
Hope that was helpful

you'll be doing well to get
you'll be doing well to get into any decent GT's from the shore but there are plenty of other options. Like Syd said just go where the weather lets you. Some 3-5" soft plastics like McArthy minnows and shads and some Atomic paddle tails will be good for the spanglies. Have a few 40gm metals and some 80 Roosta Poppers and a few smaller Richter plugs will cover all the land bases you're likely to find up here.
Pop into the tackle store and buy some stuff, grab a sanctuary map and go and check some spots out. There are plenty of them but the weather will dictate where is best to fish on the day. Eddy will be able to steer you in the right direction also. How many coming over from SA?

You will love Exmouth! Gotta
You will love Exmouth! Gotta disagree with Lucky Tim on saying you will find it hard to get any decent GT's from shore. Walk up to the fishing boundry marker up near the navy pier late arvo and cast big poppers on GT gear. I lost 3 or 4 poppers to BIG Gt's busting me off on the reef that runs along the beach in close. Was using PE8 and twisted leaders and still couldnt stop these suckers. Poppers of note were Dumbells, Blackjacks and even the old school Cotton Cordel.

Poppers were 120 and
Poppers were 120 and uluas/skipjacks 90s and 120gr metals on eight foot sticks/ pe8 got buried pretty quick over the rough stuff at pilgumuna but that was all I bought down / leaders
I just used single 120lbs with FG or PR knot and smaller lures used 80lbs but on pe8
Get a good back pack one that can carry a lot of water lures and snacks and just walk till you find them my best days was when I found the bone fish just scare them of the flats GTs and barracudas love them

exmouth
Definately harder without a boat. Did a solo like 2 years back. The pics have since been removed from the post, but the text is still there.
Fish are much smaller from shore, with the exception of sharks. Could not land me a GT from shore.
Be prepared to walk.
