Landbased Rottnest

I am thinking of heading over to Rotto for a fishing expedition in the next few weeks. If anyone is willing to give away a few tips on good lanbased fishing spots over there it would be appreciated.
Many thanks, Colin Hay

If you look at the Google satellite shot there looks to be fishing spots all over the western side. Hopefully someone can point us in the right direction.

Maybe have a read of "Hooked

Maybe have a read of "Hooked For Life" again Colin. Cuey does mention a few good spots. Although mainly he seemed to just ride around and throw lures into reef holes, never staying in the one spot too long.

Yellowtail Kings

Tue, 2008-04-01 21:22

I'm guessing it's not a common occurance, but i have seen novices get into a school of yellowtail kings of ricey beach. They were english guys going for tailor and ended up landing one and losing a heap. Just wade out on the reef shelf at low tide further down the beach and cast into the deep holes out the back where the waves break.

I googled up the Rotto sanctuary zone maps. They do take up a lot of space. Have to sit down and work up a battle plan.

Hi Vans, I will have to get a hold of Hooked for Life" again and have another look.
