The yak fellas use weed wacker line as the cheaper option few crimps and clips and stays coiled up and outta the way. Just no stretch in it so you have to use more than say an elastic one.

I saw one bloke that wrapped the whipper snipper cord around a broom handle then dipped it in boiled water to shape it and get a nice tight coil on it.

It allows you to wrap the cord around in tight uniform coils. You dip it in the water, remove the broom handle and the coils retain their shape. Saves having excess straight cord dangling around and getting the way/caught on everything.

Don't tell me the Mrs dropped another combo into the water!!

I've been looking into making a batch of these myself. My kids have thrown/lost three rods overboard now.

This video shows how easy they are to make.

I made mine up out of surgical rubber. Just tie a loop in each end & attach whatever your prefered clip style is. Super cheap, super stretchy & you can make a great ghing out of the leftovers. 10m is about $20 so you can imagine how many lanyards & other goodies you can make out of that.
