Large minnows and stickbaits

Go to tackle world Myaree and they have some sebile and other minnows there. Lures that are usually up to $40 each, you can now get 4 for $20.

Hmmm

I have noticed that also. The old saying if they appear to be too cheap they probably are comes to mind. There are certainly some bargains going that's for sure, now have we become a highly sceptical bunch of people or what, we don't trust anyone who is putting out a bargain. Could they be good forgeries hmmm. Would you know a forgery if you saw one, and what about if the are cheap knock offs but look and work ok with a change of rings and hooks. Would you still buy them and save a small fortune. Decisions decisions.

at $20, does it matter. Give 4 of them a go not much riding on it.

Sebille

Sun, 2014-05-18 14:52

I have used the slashers (small poppers 52mm) in the clear version and they get fish (target Whiting), seen Dave Buttfield on Hooked doing the damage with GT's and Mackies on the stick baits in the Sebille range.

I know BCF had them out for cheap but thats a good thing isnt it? some lures are priced so you dont want to tie them on for fear of not getting them back...

I used a sebile today going

Sun, 2014-05-18 17:34

I used a sebile today going for salmon. Off the rocks using a 20g minnow was probably stupid but on the first retrieve the beak snaps off. Pretty sure its called the beak (the front part that makes it sink). Probably just because it hit rocks it broke but I thought it would be a little bit stronger

No good there Lachie...

the front end is called the bib- generally you have to lift the lure clear of the rocks not drag it up over the rocks mate, was that what happened? try and take the lure back as I had some Halco's that were used trolling and they snapped clean off- took them back and explained what went on and they replaced the faulty item.

Not sure in your case but you can try..

When I first went to the shop they said that the body might crack if hit the rocks (issue is that they have liquids inside) but that was it. I think it was first cast when it broke. From now on I will use them on beach only. I have still saved a lot of money even with 3 lures now.

Send Sebille some mail

Thu, 2014-05-22 09:38

Send an email directly to Sebille- tell them exactly what happened and also what the tackle store told you, if its the product at fault then the store should have replaced it with those comments no drama...you need to get onto Sebille and you never know? it was the same with Halco for me they bent over backwards for the faulty product and I received new bibs for the lures plus a couple of new ones and boat stickers etc..

worth it Lachie- fairly poor from the tackle store
