led trailer lights on ford ranger

i paid 2 different auto electicians to wire lights and cars brake controller. $1500 in total but light didnt work and a second set of led lights. in desperation i tried led head light resistors and problem solved. pitty the profesionals arent too cleaver

Been told that the newer vehicles require the led lights to have a built in resistor or they will not work. ? Your experience seems to prove it's true. Something to be aware of.

CANBUS can be problematic
CANBUS can be problematic with any modern cars.
I ended up doing my 200 myself as I didnt like the answers I was getting from both Toyota dealer and auto sparkies I spoke to about probably the most common towing vehicle in Australia that pulls over 2 tonne.
One thing on 200's and others (from memory)-if you tap the brake signal from the brake light rather than the pedal switch, manual braking on the controller DOESNT disengage cruise or activate the brakelights.
