Leeuwin Ramp changes

I was frankly disgusted when retrieving my boat at the Leeuwin boat ramp a couple of days ago to find the taps that allow boat wash down have been shut off. Considering the charges for parking over 4 hours have increased by over 30% over the last year (to $16) - what justification has the council got for these changes?
Facilities here are already poor when comparing to other ramp that service the ocean - what do the council do with all the revenue they get from this place? (I know, general revenue but they do need to run this facility).
I'm writing to the council, perhaps if they get enough complaints....

Dont forget that the Leewin ramp is patrolled by the most overzealous parking enforcer in Perth.
Used to live in East Freo so have lots of personnel experiences there, but have never or never will use that ramp cos i dont wont to give
anyone the plesure of booking me.
The issue of ramp cost is a ongoing issue which has been challenged before only to fall on deaf ears.

I never use the water at boat ramps....boat is located near my neighbors front lounge room so happy to run it at home.

I remember a similar thread
I remember a similar thread a while back regarding ocean reef ramp fees. I was gobsmacked to hear just how many people on this forum were actually thrilled to be paying ramp fees, going to great extents to justify the reasoning. Lets hope this thread doesn't end up as long.

- Parking fee is over the top
- The Ranger is a nightmare
- Carpark is to small & fills up very early when good weather
- Swell from passing boats and current can make it fun when launching/retrieving
They need a better solution for the Freo area.

I stopped using Leewin when I realised Woodies is the same travelling time from NoR. The water pressure there was so crap I didn't even bother washing down anyway

leewin ramp charges
Fees & charges, we pay enough for our boat licences, that should cover all costs, we also pay road tax on our fuel, and were not driving our boat on the road, also trailer licence, talk to the shadow minister for transport, thats what we pay pollies for, cheers Don.
