Little Johnny inspiration

After looking at Little Johnny's swim posts, thought I better get keen and put on the snorkel and have a look, Occys where a bit elusive but was surprised by the numbers of Blue Manna crabs, saved a pretty windy morning with squid hard to come by. Ended up with the below and a bag of whiting. Thanks to Little Johnny for the posts of what is possible with a bit of knowledge and effort.

Flood/ fresh water line

Is not far north from the closed Coburn Sound crabbing line, so probably better sooner than later, plenty of crew having a go today. Awesome how much water is coming down the Avon/Swan and into the North end Sound.

Just Sandies, haven't been able to crack the KG code. Family loves whiting fillets so easy to go through a few in n a month. Fishing in 20 m inside 5 fathom, size was not overly impressive.

Bait

Hi Stumpy

Pretty much use Coral prawns and sometimes local squid, most important to not have too bigger baits for good hookup rate, once you find the good sized sandies need to get into them as you can go over the same drift and not pick them up again. Occys and crabs where caught by hand on the snorkel.
