Marine park
marine park doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t fish inside it, you can catch fish in marmion marine park!
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

No take
is what was talked about when I heard. Don't know how it could get through without community consultation. Odd that very little knowledge out there in community too.

The Sanctuary Zone/No take
The Sanctuary Zone/No take area is a small section in the south east corner of the Marine Park. Just behind the 3 mile reef off Mindarie. In predominantly sand.
It was obviously just lines drawn on a map to meet a certain % of how much of a Marine Park needs to be 'No Take' zones.
Its part of the Federal Marine Park network, outisde state waters (beyond 3nm from shore). I assume they will allocate funding to fisheries to enforce it?

Heres an article from the
Heres an article from the local rag.

Funny reading the bs spruiked of the benefit of this park that its going to protect the inshore shallow 'lagoons', reefs and sea grass meadows which are fish and crayfish nurseries.
It starts in federal waters. More than 3nm out. Behind the 3 mile reef. As you can see on the sat pic in the article it doesn't even encompass the areas is spruiked to protect. And the Sanctuary Zone is just the Green bit in the corner.

Both comercial or
Both comercial or recreational fishing can only be banned in a special purpose zone or a sancuary zone of a marine park. All marine parks must have a general purpose zone in which both activities are allowed.
In effect things like the ban on spear fishing in the marmion marine park is in confict with the act so not enforecable, if you wanted to take fisheries to a court.
