Eric 15 foot is about as long as they make them
Sherbs and I are looking at something for when the winter winds come. A strong 15 footer that can throw out a heavy weight and big bait is a good weapon to have sometimes. I will probably look at matching it with a Shimano Big Baitrunner.
You want a nice strong reel that can hold a fair bit of reasonably heavy line.

More info on that please mako
I'm an avid Ugly Stick man. I have a 12 footer...It's quite heavy though. 15 foot seems a massive rod. Would someone like me with a bad back be able to handle? Will my 12 foot Platinum see me through?
Cheers, Vince

Been lokin after the same
Been lokin after the same sort of thing for a while now,big baits and winter winds dont mix well with the graphites.
Had to get myself an su400(13ft low mount)take the bung off the end and make an extention out of an old rod so i can use an eggbeater on it, does the job for casting but can get tireing after a couple of hours fishing..
puts out a biggg bait though, cant beat the composites for chucking biggg baits out.
best of luck looking like to hear your results

Anaconda
Anaconda has an Easter sale. 40% off ALL rods until Sunday.
Was in there today, they have beach rods from $60 - $250+ (then less the 40%). They'll price match and still take 40% off the matched price.
Might be woth a look.

Got the same rod 8-12kg. Its a absolute horse for its class and its seen its fair share o load on it without any issues, although I did lose the inner race on the top runner, but took it back after 2.5yrs and they put a new runner on there and then. They ve got lifetime warranties. I find the 12 just that bit short on occasion and wish I went for the 14 instead. Might have to hit the cook up for a new 14 one piece.

FFS short men with big rods... lol
What's with these 15 footers anyway? Shit! It's like the golfers with their jumbo drivers (I have one LOL). I spoiled myself too so PPffffffttttt! Bought a 9' Lemax Pro graphite popper tosser (not a proper tosser) today. That Ryan bugger talked me into it. And hey.. I did tell the wife... now all she has to do is fit it out with a reel on my b'day....More brownie points required here
Cheers, Vince

It is nice to have a variety of options Vince
I have rods from 6 to 15 foot to use from the rocks and the beach.
Sherbs and I are waiting for a big winter storm to come to hit a few spots where a big rod will come in handy.

Sherbs took his big beast out of its bag on Sunday
While it was a little unweildy to use from the rock walls at Hillarys, he was itching to test it out.
He managed to hook onto a solid little Eagle Ray and I was extremely impressed with the rods bottom end power. Handled that ray like it was a litle skippy.

long range rods
You coul also try the Kingfisher rods, it comes with three tips with the heavy tip rated at 8-10 oz and the blank is lighte than most of the 12ft blanks that I have looked at

have a look at the azegai
have a look at the azegai blanks...bottom end strong bone and top end not overly stiff..i baitcast with this and throw 3oz plus mulie and its got great feel.......4oz is still comfortable for it though...it does have an extra wrap round the tip
maybe a posedian 5 piece combo could be worth a gander for an allrounder but bit of overkill for metro beaches.....good bottom basher and the heavy tip throws 8oz plus a mulie plenty far but i dont like the feel of it that much, keeping in mind its desigend for overheads....doubles as a cheap balloning rod
the loomis franklin copy in the 3 piece are a sweet rod with a light and heavy tip.....really good metro outfit but its low mount and is my go to outfit when no strong souwesters prevail
try to keep away from solid tips=sloppy feel and crap for casting imho but nearly indestructable (cant high stick it) and 12 ft min off the beach to keep out of the beach slops. 13 to 14ft for comfortable all day casting is about wot id recomend.....i picked up one of the daiwa moonraker rod (15 or16ft) but just didnt have agreat feel with slow rebound and very thin walls
or a purglass 2 is the pick of the pick of the bunch,,,best blanks and about $200=blank only
