Looking for people to go fishing with

Hi guys,

I went over east at the start of the year and ended up going fishing on a couple of charters which reignited my interest in fishing. Though, previous times I had gone fishing was about 15 years ago, apart from a few sporadic attempts at rottnest (western king wrasse, yay Undecided). I ended up going fishing at Pt Peron a few weeks ago. One of the other guys landed a dhuie from the boat (and I could still see the shore). I rushed a rig up and got an even bigger fish on my line. Fighting it for a bit and it all went limp (a reminded to never tie a loop to loop connection between mono and braid Yell). This made me realise I hadnt really caught any fish in Perth before (used to live up in Karratha where the fishing was excellent, especially the monte bello islands).

I've been fishing a quite few times in the last couple of weeks, but I dont usually have much luck. I caught some salmon down south which is probably the bigget fish i've caught (and 'only' 4kg) as well as a few herring. In perth i've caught 2 squid, 1 tailor, 1 skippy, 1 herring and 1 salmon trout, but the fish were only over 2 sessions, so theres a lot more sessions that didnt yield anything, not even bites from blowies in some cases.

Is there any guys out there willing to let me tag along when they go fishing? I'd love to go out on a boat (especially the FAD's before they're packed up), but just fishing with someone who knows what they're doing and where to go thats landbased would really improve my skills I think.

I'm keeping an eye out for deckie postions, but it doesnt seem like anyones asking for anyone to go shore based, so I thought I'd ask. If anyone is going out on a boat I will of course chip in for fuel/bait/other costs, and seeing as May is rapidly approaching, if anyones going out to the FAD's with a spare seat, i'd be more than happy to chip in the usual costs as well as a bit extra (seeing as its going to be cheaper than a charter and less people and probably better atmosphere). I dont get seasick, and I have my own gear (just ask my bank account, lol).

So, anyone out there willing to let me tag along, especially to the FAD's but other boating or landbased would be great too (damn you elusive flathead and bream and well the list could go on....).

thanks,

Matt
