What a day not to remember. Fishing a 30m hole out from the west side of North West Cape, and shark after shark we were finally undone. The good old Daiwa Monster Mesh PE 3-6 gave way and off went the Stella and rod. All caught on gopro. Very disappointed. May post up vid sometime soon.

Not specified.
Have been watching the video over and over. Monster Mesh PE 3-6 snapped at the butt joint. Not that i think anyone from Daiwa would take any cred for.

Stella 8
Hey Waz, i know your bleeding but you will have to regroup and not drag down your mates. Cheer up mate you will have a good reason to own the latest model 8 if your heart desires, as those that know you, now there is a great big gap in that aluminium carry case of yours thats screaming out for a reel to make a nice snug fit in the newly vacated piece of realestate. I know a bloke ( Luke ) who could probably talk your local tackle shop into giving you another rod ( if not reel ) he has history on his side. Haha ( breaking rods that is )

I feel for you
Same. thing happened to my Stella 8000. Bloody sharks and my fault. Had the shark next to the boat and grabbed the leader without gloves. Put the rod and Stella behind me on the deck (not in a holder) and kick went the shark, ripped the leader down onto braid and shit does that burn. Let go without thinking and overboard goes the Samurai jig 10 (that alone would bring tears) attached to the Stella.
Was the closest I have come to tears on a boat ever. Like loosing a loved one. But reality soon strike and better the rod/reel than some other disaster. Wanted to don the snorkel and go down, but night with noahs, ripping current and poor underwater torch plus being almost an old fart made me just jig for it for about an hour.
got over it now. Probably settle for a Saragosa 8000 and a Samurai Jig10 again. God did I love that rod!!!
