Lovely start to the day

So my alarm was supposed to go off in an hour at 315. Was going to have an early early start. I've woken up an hour early. I've looked out my window which fortunately overlooks freshwater bay and if the river is anything to go by.... The ocean will be amazing. The winds are looking pretty much straight westerly. Oh I can not wait to get out!!!!! I'll be around rotto in a blue centre console. Come say hi

looks to have come right up
looks to have come right up at mullaloo.
I was pissed when the missus said she needed me to stay home today. now , not so much.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

The direction of the wind
The direction of the wind always ensured some slop even in close. I took me old man out for a fish in the cockburn sound, first time I took me tinny for a light gear bottom bash but only got wrasse etc at the d9 and some lumps, wheres good areas to look for these kgs and flatties. It was mostly overcast so it was hard to spot the sandy bottom areas, I think ill stick to tailor fishing.

Kg's
Hi Tim, i just hit broken ground, where its visable sand and weed with big patches of sand cast to the edges of sand, anchor up.
Always a chance of a feed when all else fails, and to be honest the fact i cant get rid on me "Tin Lids" its a reliable and fun option,

Ok thanks, yeah I dont do any
Ok thanks, yeah I dont do any of this bottom bouncin stuff but always lookin to keep the mrs and young bloke involved (and catch a feed) so will give that a go next time. I just concentrated on fishing the structure (lumps) in the sound and the sounder showed heaps of fish, but all shit fish. I guess find likely ground like you suggest and burley up, be patient. What sort of depth is ideal, I heard theres good kg ground off hillarys?? I only have a 15 ft runabout thats great for trolling for tailor along the coast and river but having other options makes it interesting. Cheers

Hard day today! Awful
Hard day today! Awful conditons after 9am, stinking north westerly.
WE jigged a bit in the 40's but hard work with 120 g jigs, so headed in the the 30's and got a nice oven sized dhu for dinner tonite on jig.
Trolled for almost 4 hours, no bait shows on the sounder at all and no hits except for one small patch where bait showed up on the sounder and 10 seconds later two secreaming 50 m runs.....both pulled the hooks.....dam!
Best to have stayed at home!
Missed you Hotdogs!

Should of listened to u
Should of listened to u fishoRon was pretty average out there today so much for under 10 knot nw more like 15-20 slow trip out but haven't been out for three weeks so I was pretty keen to wet a line we started in the 60s but got sick of winding up the house brick sinkers so moved in to a few spots I'd marked on the way out in the 40s i got a duhie and the mrs got a baldie had a few more drifts but we couldn't stay on the good ground long enough started heading in and tried another spot in the 30s I'd marked on the way out did two drifts I got 2 50cm king George and the mrs got a duhie was definitely hard work. If it wasn't for the mrs I would of been home by lunch with no fish but she wouldn't give up I'm glad she didn't I've finally found a good kng george spot we were getting heaps of kg bites but we were using 6/0 so it was hard to hook them lookin forward to droppin a kg rig there on a calm day. Without a doubt kg are my no1 eating fish
Play hard fish harder

Rough day
Headed out from the Dawesville ramp at 06.30 this morning and it was sloppy in the Cut...not looking too good. As we approached the mouth it got worse, and all we could see were white caps. Stuck our nose out but the conditions weren't looking vey good, so we erred on the side of caution and headed back in. Others were doing the same thing, while a couple of boats kept going out....making hard work of it, too.
Back on the trailer and headed home, unpacked and washed the boat and we headed off for a round of golf!!
Fingers crossed for better weather next weekend.

Still trying to get the body moving - crumbs the muscles and back are sore still!!!
Please, will you stay home and keep quiet next time the forecast looks half way good on a Saturday?!?
Save the Whales! May as well - they won't fit in my catch bag!!!
