Lowrance elite seven chirp problems

Gents I was wondering if anyone else has had the Sam issues with there sounder
mine looses the sounder function from time to time.the screen won't show depth and is blank if I restore defaults it all starts working aagain any thoughts

Software update needed?
Done a software update lately? I did one on my Garmin and it made a world of difference to stability and functionality

I have had it happen to me
I have had it happen to me too. I think it hapepens after an update and for some reason the "sounder off" option gets checked.
