ive not long had the HDS 7 unit in the tub and i cant speak highly enough of it... beautiful unit in all aspects and very easy to use. only difference is as you say that mine has chart plotter also... well worth the money but every one has different ideas... shop around and you may find something you like elsewhere? good luck mate
I ve got the HDS 7 combo unit on the centre console as the other guys mentioned easy to use looking at adding the side scan unit to it shortly. great support from the lowrance techy guys in Sydney Best unit Ive owed so far definately reccomed the HDS units.You can download the free mapping software on your computer to do back up as well
