Lowrance HDS 7 - Transducer Help
Submitted by stumpie on Tue, 2017-02-07 09:10
hi folks
I've recently bought a 2nd hand boat that came with a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 1 sounder. After watching some videos on youtube, I've double checked the settings and found that the transducer type has not been setup. There is no tag on the transducer to tell me what it is. The only info I've got is that the HDS 7 is a Gen1 and on the receipt handed over to me it says 50/200 Khz.
I've temporarily set the transducer type to Generic 50/200 khz but wondering if this is correct?

HST-DFSBL
If it's the 50/200 try setting the transducer to "HST-DFSBL"
Also I'm sure you've already checked but just in case, the tag for the transdcuer is usually up at the end where the cable plugs into the head unit NOT near or on the transducer itself.

+1 for that
They were one of the standard xducers available with the -7 and -9, should show it on the plug end. Down at the wet end, it will look like a normal Lowrance skimmer, with a fairly sold plastic bracket instead of the crappy thin s/s ones supplied with the ones you get with HDI-**'s
