Lowrance Structure Scan Settings

I've got a structure scan on my boat that I got to find good diving spots, but I can't get it to work properly. Is there a best pallet, contrast, range or other setting that I should use?

What settings does everybody use?

I know it's a tricky question because on fish finders everbody has their personal preferences on the clutter, etc...

Cheers

Kristof

I would suggest you spend a day on the river to have a play with it and work out what is best for you, learn settings etc.
Chase some flattys and look for the drop off's.

not really a whole heap of settings for structure scan as such - why do you say it's not working properly??

Palette doesn't really matter so much, set range for 30 meters to each side to start with (unless you had a big screen to spread the picture over) and maybe go slightly wider once you work it out

note if your over a relatively flat bottom you will see very little as there is no structure to see.

I use the blue pallet on

I use the blue pallet on mine as I find it the easiest to read set sensetivity to about 75 and go from there...you want it to be just casting a black shadow around any rocks or whatever you have gone past...455 khz I think it is will give you the best detail  and never use the auto range....set it to 3 times the water depth your in...10 m of water set it to 30 either side.

hope this helps.

I'm going out on the boat on Saturday and will give it a go. I'll start with your settings Jayden and take it from there.

New boat new sounder

We have just got back into boating and the boat came with a lowrance HDS 9 gen 2

This is so much more complicted than our last one.

We cant seem to work out how to navigate to a waypoint.

We marked home then could not see where or what to follow.

I have looked for tutorials on youtube but they only show how to mark them and move the curser to one.

Help please
