Lure choice and tips for land based Exmouth and Cape Range National Park

Hey all

Heading to North Kurrajong campground for just over a week at Easter, and looking for some advice on gear and targets.

Will take my 9wt saltwater fly gear plus light spin for small stuff, 6kg spin outfit spooled with 20lb braid for lure casting, and probably a heavier spin outfit to soak a bait at night for spanglies. If there are others that would be useful I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Will take a selection of metals for casting for queenies, trevally etc. Would like to try some stickbaits as that looks like fun! Suggestions on the best lures and plastics would be great.

Lure fishing will be for fun by will try to get the odd spanglie for food. Have caught plenty up that way from boats but not shore based. I've heard that baitfishing after dark can be productive.

Any advice would be really appreciated

Cheers

Mainly looking for tips on lures to use as I haven't fished up that way for quite a few years. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

there in january 2017 and what worked best for me was any stickbait under 100mm for queenys trevs jacks and some giant unstopables i was using a stick bait called an entice woodpecker in the green colour that worked a treat also another lure which kept hooking the unstopables was i think it was called a muscle shot stickbait or somthing both are around 90mm but my best advice is go to tackle world exmouth ask the guys whats working and where to start they can be a great help .

 Thansk for the feedback

Thansk for the feedback mate. I've always been looked after by the Exmouth Tackle World guys but we'll be passing through there after hours on our way to North Kurrajong so it'll mean a special trip in there. I'll maybe see the guys locally and then head into Exmouth when I can.

Yeah I know from past experience to expect the toothy brigade after dark! I only usually bother if I need to catch dinner for the next night!

Cheers
