ive never caught one on a prawn star, they are more for flatties for bream. Try eco-gear sx40s or laserpro 45s in gold/orange colors. With bream you can never work the lure TOO slow, so just winding it in nice and slowly with a few twitches.
yeh shizz.. my number one lure would have to be the eco gear sx's they would have to have the best action for bream. closely followed by the squidgy curly tail soft plastics, they seem to reallly fire.
the thing wen u are bream fishing is that there are sooo many choices of lures that u never know which one to beggin with :P it all comes down to location and conditions! its all about having that veriaty to play with.

Same with barra fishing, it's an absolute nightmare trying to find the right lure for the location and conditions.
hey JAY
ive never been bara fishing but im heading over to queensland in a couple days and imm going to give it a bit of a bash in one of the dams, im taking over just rmg scorps and DD prity much of all size.. do u have any pointers on catching them and lure choice?
jonya
I think he's talking about impoundment dams street.
Jonya, when fishing tidal rivers gold coloured lures particulary gold bombers, B52's are good but I'm not sure about the impoundments. RMG's are a good barra lure.
Your best bet would be to go down to the lockal tackle shop and ask them what they recommend for the local impoundments.
only impoundments in perth are golden ponds, and i dont really class 30cm barras as much of a fight :p what a pity, perth has alot of wasted land not far from the city. Would be good for the small towns to get somethin like what QLDs got all over the joint.
