Just curious as to what luxuries you take away that you couldnt or wont go without.
For us we gotta have the coffee machine and you cant go past a deep fryer .

Actually just discussing this today for our upcoming fishing trip. A good large selection of beers and some hand picked red wine by me (wine wanker here) ;)
Also good butchered meat.

Yep, I'd have to agree. Also a camp oven goes well and a basic tool box can save the holiday.

x2 on the wine mate - in the warmer weather I enjoy a chardonnay or two - I picked up some good stuff off graysonline which comes in 375ml (half) bottles - the upside to that is the half size bottle fits neatly in a stubby holder - perfect for keeping it cold + I look like my beer swilling mates.... :-)

Always go with good
Always go with good meat.
Quality toilet paper. One thing no one should skimp on is toilet paper, none of that Clint Eastwood stuff.
Most important thing to take on holiday is family and friends, got them and every holiday is good.

Date Roll
If you run out of date roll and have to use gum leaves, make sure you use the shiny side otherwise you will have an itchy ring for days after

Depends on where you are heading
If you have got a powered site and generally good camp ground facilities it makes life easier.
electric kettle, toaster, TV etc.
Out in the bush away from everybody, genset/solar power, chemo toliet for the missus and descent cooking equipment.
I always like proper cutlery, plates, mugs and drinking glass/cup none of that I'm camping plastic shit.
A good sturdy table and wash tub.
A comfortable chair, suitable clothing and bedding.
Plan meals according to what we have access to when away.
Remember the more you pack the heavier you travel.
Good planning prevents the missus having a crack at you for not packing every thing she needs.
So you can both sit back crack your favourite beverage and enjoy life because thats what it's all about.

After you've done a few
After you've done a few trips you soon learn what and what not to take.
Enjoy still heading to Coral Bay?

Bunch of sooks
When I was about 20, our weekend trips down the coast fishing from Fish creek all the way round to Preston beach , leaving after work Friday and back Sunday arvo. All we took, not including the usual eskybait, piss and such, was date roll, sleeping bag, frying pan and a billy. Quite a few times it involved 3 blokes trying to sleep in the front of a Valiant ute because it was pissing down
Mind you, now one appreciates a few comforts after some 40 years fishing

shadecloth
cheap shadecloth makes THE BEST ground sheet for your living area. sand and grass falls straight through, leaves just get swept or blown off it. some small cheap tent pegs (the smaller and the more of them the better) are cheap a Bunnings.
power board and extension cords are often forgotten.
big tent pegs and decent guy ropes are important.
ant granules and outdoor surface spray are handy additions for keeping pest numbers down. use these before you set up.
i'm currently looking at a camping projector/audio set up for movies (more so for the kids).
all above are important items that make things easier, but the MOST important rule of camping is this:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH ALCOHOL. it WILL get drunk.

5 blocks of red cans and a 2
5 blocks of red cans and a 2 boxes of bbq shapes and I’m good for a week.
Add a couple of litre bottles of water for a rinse off before bed, that’s luxury.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I do miss the creature comforts...
Cold Cab Sav
Cold beer
real toilet paper
no grand children
paper plates
real glass drinking vessels (real glass glasses...???)
mozzie nets
someone else to do the cooking
Took a photo of a "first morning campsite" on an early fishing safari...
8 blokes...
about 100 empty beer cans
9 empty spirits bottles......
from there it just went downhill....
