Mahi
Standard bream gear (4-6kg rod/2000 reel/6-10lb line/20lb leader). Rictor Jelly Babes in pink or green will do you well.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Never got a mahi mahi , But
Never got a mahi mahi , But I'd go more than 10lbs, a 40lb leader and 30lb braid.

Hard to beat a snelled mulie
Hard to beat a snelled mulie drifted down. If u feel one hit free spool it for 5 seconds then knock the bail arm back over. I am a jig fisherman but this the most effective way to catch them out there

Mix it up!
They get bored very quickly with the same stuff over and over again so if you're the second boat out there and the first guy's been trolling pink skirts that probably won't work for you.
I've got them by casting/drifting softies, jigs, bibbed minnows, poppers and several varieties of bait but the one thing I've learned is that no one thing works for very long, apart from maybe live bait.
As for gear, use spinning or baitcasting gear as light as possible...even 2 kg bream gear as mentioned above, and 20 lb flourocarbon leader...anything more can turn off fish that are already quite finicky and impair lure action, anything less may be compromised by their raspy little teeth...

Mahi Mahi
any soft plastic that loos like a blue sardine and or cubed mulies (small) on a single hook with no sinker.
