Mandurah

Hey there,

I was wondering if someone could give me some pointers if possible. My friends old man has just bought a new boat down in Mandurah and is wanting to start fishing with it a bit more, only problem is we dont have much local knowledge of Mandurah so i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction, not looking for points as such but just a general guide to whats out there and how far should we be going out and at what depths are best.

Any help would be appreciated.

Stevo.

Start off in close and build

Start off in close and build confidence...

FFB = five fathom bank mate. It's on all charts can't miss it.

BR = Bouvard Reefs - South of cut again on all charts can't miss it.

Fish western edges of both on the flatter, broken coral and rubble. 24m+. Can produce some good fish @ times.

Also James Service just NW of Robert Point. marked on all charts, just watch the breakers when swell - can produce thumper pinkies and skippy. Anchor and burley.

Depending on how big boat is also some great ground farther afield in the 40's and onwards - but a fair hike out and back...

I live in Rocko but grew up in mandurah and still work here.  Have mates on the cray boats. Gimme a PM if u wanna fish sometime as some local knowledge can always assist - not to mention a hand held GPS ;-)
