Mandurah Blue Grouper

Good start to the fishing for 2017.
Decided to head down to Mandurah for something different, and it certainly was.. producing a good mix of Big Dhus, big breaksea cod and a Blue Grouper. Missus even caught the Blue.
Dhu was 11.5kg, Blue was 11.2kg and breaksea were between 40-50cm.
Mate on another boat even scored an 16.5kg Dhu.

Was listening to you on the radio talking about that yesterday .we were out from dawsville aswell.got a few nice dhuies a 3 blackass aroud 50cm

Interesting fish that groper, we get a blue groper over east, but they are nothing like that.

Seems to be grouper around
Seems to be grouper around metro waters are all females, I would expect a fish of that size down south to be a male and nice and blue, not green

I Suspect a big blue male down there hanging of this big girl.
i think blues are very particular on feeding on crusteacens. Couldn't tempt the male that would have been around.

Hey Dan.Goes well mate. Loves windy chop with deep V. Some balancing issues with large transducer, but looking at 2-3kw upgrade wetbox later this year.
Cruises at 30knts and 4000rpm. WOT 42knts capable of 45 though without tranny.

Slowly working up to it.
Slowly working up to it. Can't trust my sounder yet until i've got it dialed in. Too much noise from straked hull at the moment. Can't get clean water as the hull is designed for speed.
Going wetbox will solve all the issues and enable me to sound with confidence. THough won't find much change from $10k.
