manual trim position

howdy all

i have a 14.5 ft ally runabout with a 30hp mariner on it.my query is about what position i should have the manual  trim at, i have 5 different holes to place it in, do i just have it generally in one of the holes all the time and if so which one would be best to use in general. i know weight displacement inside the boat will effect the ride, but because it is a manual trim i think it would be a  pain to keep changing on the run all the time. so is there a general hole i can leave it in for most of the time. also i have a hydrofoil which i can put on as well are these a good idea to use or not.

                                                                            cheers

                                                                            dakka

for sure it will give you more stability at rest as well as better cornering and it should get to the plane better too!!! as for your manual trim it will vary from boat to boat the best way is to get out there on a calm day and try each different position!! just remember though if you put it to high when you have a rough day it will tend to nose dive over the waves! generally you would use one of the first three holes!!but this will depend on the deadrise of your transom!

i use to have a yammy 30hp on the back of a stacer seaway 4.2m. i always had the pin on the second hole from the bottom. seemed to be generally good for all conditions.
