Marine ply???
Submitted by Tchampney on Thu, 2013-05-30 17:38
Got bored this afternoon and decided its time to give the tinnie a make over. Stripped it clean false floor, lights, wiring everything gone... Now does anyone know where I can get some marine ply to build my new floor. Btw the live at secret harbour so somewhere south of the river will be good... Cheers

form ply
some years ago I did the floor in my dingy and used form ply.....the stuff with shiny black paint on each side.
I treated the edges with copious layers of paint to seal it up and all was good for the next 3 years until I sold it.
To stop the carpet sliding around I painted the top and sprinkled course sand on it while still wet to form a non slip surface.
Worked a treat.
Thats my 2 bobs worth.

buy some everdure and paint the whole board especially the edges...that should keep it waterproof if you do a few coats

Marine and structural ply
Marine and structural ply have the same glue, the only diff is structural has knots and putty and sanded on
1 side.marine has no knots or putty or inpurfections.so to save some money use structural for under carpet.

i got mine from Bunnings in Bibra Lake, they cut full sheets for me to my desired sizes, plus use bondcrete to seal the ply before you put the carpet on, works a treat.
