Marron and yabbies

Couldnt find my self a hunting buddy last break as every one was already busy. So decided to leave the young fella at Nannas for the night and take the missus out the bush for a bit of romantic Marroning and a quick hunt on the way home.

We had to work a bit harder than normal to get my 8 marron but still managed it before 10.30 and got a couple of beuties in there aswell.

Went to pick the young bloke up the next day and cooked them up for lunch to say thanks. 8 marron fed 5 of us easily for lunch and they taste great.

Couple of days later we where baby sitting my neice for the day and after seeing the marron a couple of days earlier both the kids (18 months and 2 years old) both walked around saying Nac Nacs all morning so decided to take them out to get some yabbies. Rather than just using traps over night we decided to make it a bit more exciting for them and took a couple of crab drop nets. With in 45 mins we had filled a 40l esky and had another good feed for tea. and gave some to a few people.

Dinner was Yabbies cooked with garlic, chilli, parsley, and some bacon all cooked in a creamy sauce with pasta.

No pics of all the yabbies but just the one of the young bloke starting early in life.

Cheers Jayce

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
