Marron sesh 22.01.09

With the marron season upon us again i took off in search of these little devils which i enjoy. I rang up Scott (FW-Soupster) and said lets get some tasty marron as the season is short and with very little arm twisting we were off. The opening coincided with the full moon so i gave that a miss this year and thought we'd hit up the mid week new moon time period. So off we went, Harvey weir was the destination and snaring the game. I enjoy the snare and its not that hard once you get the nack!
The esky was full of piss and as the darkness fell the marron filled the empty esky
Ended up with our bag limit, a tasty feed for sure and was delish tonight cooked up on the BBQ.....going back soon!!!
Was a great nite Soupy, cheers mate!

Single man
SOUpy - surely your missus has some nice single friend that she can hook Ryan up with so that he has better things to do at night than drag you out chasing yabbies - just jokes mate, nice yabbies!

No Chance
Not likely Simon. If Ryan gets himself attached he won't have as much time to come fishing with me. So I won't be risking introducing him to any chicks. LOL.
Three days without it and I get a little jumpy

Top Session
Have to agree it was an awesome afternoon/evening/middle of the night session. My best marroning effort for sure. Marron and salad for me a lunchtime today.
One of the great things was to see how many smaller marron were around; so hopefully the stocks are being maintained by having the short season.
Thanks again Ryan, it was great to finally catch up for longer that 15 minutes. Roll on the 2010 marron session.

what was the visibility like
Ryan, I used to live right on the old Harvey river just above the old weir on Stansfield Rd and it was super. I have been down since the new dam and has always found it murky and hard to snare. Havent been down for the last 2 yrs and it will be hard to Marron from Karratha but I thought I would check if the vis improved over the years.
Cheers
