Massive mulloway down hillarys sat night

Hi everyone
thought I would share a catch I caught down hillarys on Saturday night, was ready to pack up when rod doubled over and reel started screaming !
25/30 mins fighting and managed to land this monster , I've tried for nearly 3 years to catch one and this is a cracker. Estimated weight between 15/20kg

Simple running ledger rig , just drop size or wait and stuck on a gang hook with a treble at end , Mullie was bait of choice , tried two different brands that night I would be lying if I said I could remember what brand it was tho

It was gaffed much to me
It was gaffed much to me happiness , nearly lost it as it came to rocks, hook feel out just as I was about to grab it by , luckily the treble caught the eye socket as it tried to get away and thanks to some really quick thinking from a spec grab a guys gaff and gaffed it on tail which let me grab it under the jaw and pull it over the rocks

Only been there twice mate wasn't even fishing for mulloway tbh just down to spend some time with the girl friend , I usually go mulloway fishing for like 12 hours min :-/

Thats one solid and healthy looking fish.
Bazzman now you can get rid off that devil number666 behind your name. I know about the long itch targetting fish. I targetted Bluebone up here using crabs and all the right gear. Around me everyone caught them on squid, mulies, prawn etc, and me with the crabs got NADA. But when I finally nailed one it was a corker and it certainly "scratched that itch".
After that one they seem to like me and caught a few more, so lets hope that rubs off on you to with the Mulla's.
