Media Irony

I don't know about the rest of you good fishwrecked folk, but I have found the absolute media silence over the ABC Journalist charged with drug possession and trafficking in Singapore earlier this year quite startling.
Anybody else in that position is relentlessly pursued by the media, but in this case its like there is an unwritten rule about protecting ones own being followed here.
Obviously they know how to play the game though because it would appear to be working for him.

VETERAN ABC journalist Peter Lloyd faces 10 years in jail after saying he would admit drug offences in Singapore, with a more serious charge dropped today.Singapore's attorney-general dropped the most serious of five charges, drug trafficking, after Lloyd, 41, expressed remorse and told a pre-trial conference he would plead guilty to some lesser charges.

I've no doubt but right from the get go its been very quiet, apart from the first 2-3 days when the story first broke.
FWIW one story on one night isn't the relentless pursuit they usually undertake.
