Metro beaches.... anything goin on lately?

Haven't been fishing much lately and was wondering if theres anything decent been biting around our metro beaches.

Been hangin for a beach bash but aside from running my own business, doesn't leave me much time. So I thought I'd

ask around before I head out for a fish so I dont end up wasting a day off. Hope the weed isn't too bad lately either...

Last few times beaching has been absolutely horrid.

Any input guys?

Cheers.

Few Crew on Beaches in C sound

Thu, 2011-09-01 10:41

Not sure if they were getting anything maybe just out enjoying the last few nites of fine weather.

Or the Snaps are getting in close a few big schools on the sounder lurking in the shipping channels that I have spotted.

Anyway no day fishing is a bad day in my book

Good Luck

Cheers

Try this lazy approach this time of year

small long shank with red bead above.  Pippy or better worm bait on hook. stand in shallow water on incoming tide and cast parallel to beach. slow wind.

thumper YFW waiting to chew your arse, i mean wrase!!!

if the kidneys feel slaapped keep them, love a feed.

I havent caught a decent size YFW in a while... last time I caught them, they were very mediocre size but there were so many. What beach you recommend for em? Good numbers of whiting may mean a few shovels out and about. fun for me and the kiddies =)

Technically not 'metro?', but we did alright on the Tailor off the beaches North of Two Rocks yesterday (4th Sept).  6 good size fish, all on surface lures.

along most off Mandurah's beaches. Most people cast the bait etc over their heads, and then you have the hoards off sandies out there.

I keep it very close, but found you cover more ground casting parallel to the shore. And incoming tide, they seem to go on an outgoing.

Sweet as Neels, I'll give it

Sweet as Neels, I'll give it a crack next time I head to the cut. Should be down that way within the next week or so. The beaches round the cut entrance will do yea?

Apart from flickin lures for salmon, skippy and the usual, I've never actually fished the beaches there.
