Metro Deep Drop
Hey guys, just a quick report of sundays deep drop with Tony (Southcity104).
After a few 'electrical issues' to start the day we met up with Dougie (Wangler) and crew on the way out before heading waaay behind rotto.
It was pretty slow going with the dreaded Greeneyes making there presence known but after a few uneventful drifts all hell broke loose with both Tony and myself locked into battle with some ripper Blue Eye.
The results - Mine
Tonys
Not long after the boys were locked into battle with something mega and after what seemed an eternity this appeared on the surface
We're thinking it was a Seven Gill Shark but not 100% sure, either way it was safely returned to the depths
After a few more uneventful drifts and an encounter with a 'pinger' we called it a day.
Cheers Tony for the day out

They are some serious blue eye. Haha "pingers" out there, some people have no idea. Roughly what depth if water were you catching them in? Is that boat a baron sports?

wangler, did you get the boat
wangler, did you get the boat name of the pinger. We had one come within 50 meters of us last trip out when we were drifting directly over our lump. Interested to know if its the same boat.

Nice coupla fish .. good pics
Nice coupla fish .. good pics and conditions look terrible . That shark looks a descent size not sure if I'd be game enough to hold the leader and cut the line so close , well done .

The Shark
was pretty sizey, up around 3m. Certainly gave Dougy a fair bit of trouble getting him up. Had everyone guessing.
Lucky for me i was looking from the other boat and didn't get too close a look at it's choppers

Great work guys, some awesome
Great work guys, some awesome Trevalla there.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Awesome fish and awesome boat!
I am going to be in the market for something almost exactly the same as your rig so good to know it can handle getting out in the depths.

the 575 does well but it does have its down falls for example the stock ss bimini cant handle the extra miles and eventually requires stiffening with fwd supports. i do prefer the ride of a 60ft crayboat out there but thats never gonna happen so im stuck with the cruisecraft ; )
Retrieving with a tanacom bull 1000 takes about 10 minutes at a guess.
