Metro Salmon
Hi guys managed to go for a fish last night with family, was good to go out and not get into any strife (car was left alone)
.
Anyway headed off to port beach i think it is, might be leightons, anyway its the beach to north of north mole always get confused for some reason, anyway fished till about 11 and scored a stray but 87cm salmon about 6kg (father in law caught) i threw out a tailor for bait. He got smashed after 20 mins in the water not sure if shark or mullaway but had half a fish left and had a few bite marks near head. sorry no photos not that good.
All in all was a good night father in law scored his first ever salmon and we managed 3 herring other then that very quiet but nice and peacefull sitting down watching boats n listening to waves.
Definately going back again maybe a tad earlier im sure there was a few more salmon but the bites were very gentle and fast couldnt even feel them most of the time

Their waiting for someone to comment on your choice of bait , there is realy no need to post up the size of the tailor and you should probally edit it out while you still can . Otherwise you are just asking to get negative comments.

Why do you think tailor (and other species) HAVE minimum size limits? By your last post, it would seem that you would be quite happy to do the same thing again. Tell a fisheries officer that it's going "back to the food chain" and see if he/she lets you off.

There was a school of salmon the size of about 4 football fields behind 3Mile (Hillarys) yesterday. Great fun.

out of freo yesterday taking trolled lures twisties jigs landing them was the problem just couldnt get a hook to stick

Club Capricorn
Try out the front of Club Capricorn or Yanchep lagoon in the evenings or first light in the mornings. When they travel this far north they usually hang about off there.

righto Auslobster so i stuffed up, oh and i have done the fisheries thing before, and no i dont do that sort of thing.
Usually have baits but the mulies we had were very small and this was at hand i dont make habbits out of this thing, so i wont do it again.
Seriously though with abit of bush spice on the bbq salmon cook up good, they are underrated fish imo.
I didnt take the tailor to keep one way or another that fish was going to be eaten i never said how badly the gang hooks got the tailor so hhhmmm let me see dead tailor after dehooking, lets throw him back he will swim off fine no dramas.
But yeah i will be back chasing them again and this time ill just ty my bait onto my line so as when i catch a fish it wont be hurt and can swim off just fine if that makes you feel any better.

Trolled that area offshore after seeing bust-ups from the mole during the week and hoping they were tuna. Had an afternoon of multiple 5 way hook-ups on some very big salmon on skirts and x raps. Amount of bait out there is amazing. No idea how to post a pic.
