Metro Tailor

Got a good feed of tailor last night, 11 between the two of us.
Most were around the 40cm mark, the biggest were 43cm.
Quite amusing was the fact that when either of us said something along the lines of "jeez its gone quiet" we would get smashed before even being able to finish the sentence.
Lovely warm evening for it too.

Floreat Tailor
Hit up floreat in the arvo.... was extremely busy down there with the beautiful weather and slight sea breeze. Fishing was also very quiet till about 5:30. masses of chopper tailor came in to feed on the whiting.
Tailor were caught every cast the whole way down either side of the beach.
Only kept 2 of the bigger sized ones at dark... had fun catching and releasing the rest. (the larger ones came after dark).
left there at 7:00 and they were still on the bite.
Wasnt good to see a few people not measuring there fish or releasing any at all even if they were just legal size. With a hot run like that you are sure to catch a few better sized fish with another cast.
Nevertheless it was a fun afternoon.

only one other guy on the
only one other guy on the beach where I was, not sure if he was catching anything. good to see that these were not just "on size" as it made for some better battles.
scere_182, I have no problem with people catching just size tailor, most people do it for a feed, not raping and pillaging the sea like a few few boaties come wednesday.

no worries
good to hear there are a few decent sized tailor around the metro area anyway wicksey.
i usually have to make 30min trip to northern shores for tailor up and over the 40 mark
were you using light tackle? advantage of the calm wind conditions meant i could have fun on the light gear.
