Metro Tailor

We took off from the boat ramp at about 5:15pm and started the cruise out to an old but trusty spot on a metro reef. We were anchored at the spot within 20 minutes and me and dad both casted out our ganged mulies right at the edge of the reef and almost instantly a double hook up was obtained. after catching numerouse tailor on the mulies i decided to try the poppers so out goes the halco, TWITCH,TWITCH, BANG!! after a small fight on light tackle i boated my first tailor on popper. After that i caught a few more tailor on popper before i got busted off. next i tried soft plastics and  first cast ON AGAIN!!so next decided to change to a diving lure ( my favourite bonito lure ) and almost instantly BANG on again, the tailor were in a frenzy. i wanted a bit more of a challenge and we had our limit of tailor in the esky so i decided to stop using trebles so catch and release would be more succesful. I put on a skirt ( pink jelly babe ) with a sinker attached further up the line so i could cast it and soon later i was catching tailor on skirts!! another first accomplished. we ended up keeping our limit and catching and releasing at least 50 others. one thing i found interesting is that the tailor were not eating slices which is strange especially when they are in a frenzy like that. I am going to use most the tailor for shark bait and try and transform one into a tiger shark, the rest will be fried up for lunch tomorrow.

sorry about the picture quality, only had the iphone

Good report young man. Sounds like you had a ball out there. Good to see you trying different techniques. Good luck with a metro tiger. Hook up and hang on.
