I remember this time last year the river was hot for them.   I went for a troll a couple of weeks ago with no luck.  Probably too much fresh water in there.

Cheers dj,Yea man I remember last year ppl were smashing them in the river,I dnt realy bother chasing them  in the river because I'm land based and you need to be able to follow them as they move, although this year I may have a crack with the kayak,I'd love to get into a few with bream gear, was thinking more metro beaches mate sorry I should have made that more clear in my post.

i read a report with a few decent size on bait from beach around Hillary's but that was last weekend!

Yes there hasn't been much sun yet but I'm sure we're in for a good season again in the river this year!

mandurah choppers

Mon, 2013-09-30 09:34

Hi Dan, conditions down along the Mandurah coastline are still very weedy with dirty coloured water. It will need a week or so to settle down for the spring choppers to return.

Got a couple of decent sized fish (46-50) before these late storms arrived but bugga all since.

There were a lot of smaller ones at south mole last weekend, I was using large mulies so was hard to hook them. I would say wait for the weed to clear up on the beaches then head out, should be a lot better by this weekend.

Sorry for late reply boys, work took over.

yes I ended up heading to cott beach just after sunrise mon morning but unfortunately it was weeded out as you guys suggested so had to go plan b,which was head home grab the yak and chase some bream on the swan but didn't find the fish there either I'm afraid to say so nothing good to report but always enjoyable to wet a line.

thanks for the replys!

Floreat Drain

Fri, 2013-10-04 09:40

Went to Floreat Drain last night. Rolled up in the car park at 7.20pm and met a guy that had just caught a soapie. I thought that sounded promising. Got down the beach rigged up. 8 casts and 25 kgs of weed. Home by 8.10pm.

Pembo I know exactly what u feel like. A few weeks ago I went up to Yanchep with my dad. We were fishing about 5m away from each other, in 3 casts he landed 3 good tailor, while I managed to hook 3 large clumps of weed.

Tailor

Was out on the board yesterday morning just north of Trigg and a couple of fairly big schools came through - some good fish amongst them as well. Had a little visit from a curious dolphin not long afterwards gave me fright when he surfaced a couple of metres off the end of the board!
