This thing is doing my head in, I am trying to connect a Seagate WiFi hard drive. Not through WiFi got that to work, just want to connect normally so I can watch movies on the plane.
Make the sound like its connected but can't find the bloody thing...

hope this helps
To make it work as a portable drive, you need to turn it off prior to plugging it into a computer's USB port. For this, on one side the Wireless Plus has a power on/off button that you press once to turn it on or press and hold for a few seconds to turn it off.

Gave up and got a thumb drive, that works. Don't think the tablet has enough power for the Seagate

I'm running one OK
I ran a Seagate GoFlex 1TB USB 3 drive from the original Microsoft Surface no problems --it had one of those hybrid connections at the drive end ,( looks like two micro USb connectors together) probably to deliver power. I now run the same drive from a Surface Pro 3 also with no problems. I bought a 2Tb Seagate drive last weekend, using the same kind of connections, again, no problems? Wireless hasn't given me any problems, either, it found our HP printer and automatically connected to it, the first device that had ever done so.

Yeah my Surface Pro 3 runs all similar devices no issues. Actually quite like it, great when travelling.

Mine doesn't want to read it, thumb drives are no issues. Am I doing something wrong?
