looks like you may have an
looks like you may have an allergic reaction to them. Try aloe vera on it,. just swipe the slimy juice from the leaf onto it. should help with the itching and may prevent scars. I used to get huge welts but now i dont. Perhaps Ive developed a stronger immune system?

Calamine lotion
Slap a heap of calamine lotion on them to stop the itching and repeat every 3-4 hours.

take a 24hr antihistamine like telfast,polaramine etc
that will stop the itching. http://www.thelocals.net.au/ this stuff is also really good. use it up here in hedland. keeps them away and also cures the itching if you are already bitten

If u don't get a response from the antihistamine with 48 hrs get a blood test done as it might have got into your system_ that bottom one just doesn't look right-

No Joke
That certainly is a hyperreactive response to midgies. Much nastier than just normal bites.
The little shits piss on you, and sensitise the skin. Unlucky ones next time get an overreactive response, and it can be very very severe and just about make you feel useless.
No simple remedy works for this reaction, and the only option is oral steroids, and sometimes this doesnt even work as well as we like. Combine this with watever else you want to use as a secondary effect like calamine, antihistamines etc.
Hopefully your feeling better Mick!!!

A BIG THANK YOU to Neels for
A BIG THANK YOU to Neels for making a very uncomfortable condition a shitload better. This man went above and beyond for a fellow fichwrecked member. One carton of Crownies coming up. I really dont understand why I came up like that. I grew up here and, whilst members of my family would come up in bites, I never did. And certainly never seen them so nasty. Even camping around Kalbarri, Gladstone, Coral Bay n Exxy and even Broome never have I had such a reaction. The only thing i can see that was different was I was drinking Carlton Dry while everyone else was drinking boongeggs. So thats it " Cheer, cheer the red and white ". Hahahaha. Thanks everyone else for your advise.
Cheers Mick
