Mingenew fishing

Caught this little tacker in coalstream national Park by hand. What a cutie. Was a bastard to fillet.  Any ideas what it is?

Isnt there a member on this site who is connected with the museum - maybe ask Adam for his name. When I worked in Exmouth we maintained the communication system to Winning Pool and used to see tadpoles and at times small fish in the pools of water in the shallow depressions near some of repeater manholes and within a very short time the water and tadpokes/ fish dissapeared into the mud

Growing up in Carnarvon we used to get drainage ditches full of tadpoles and shield shrimp after a good rain event. Ditches that were dry 99% of the year.
