Missing Bunbury Fisherman
Submitted by Tom M on Sat, 2016-10-29 14:32
Just noticed media report that Mr Doyles boat has been found washed ashore at Lancelin.
3 Missing fishermen this year has definately changed my fishing behaviours.
Thoughts are with Mr Doyles family.

Situations like this just go
Situations like this just go to show how lucky some people get being found and how big the ocean really is...
Its almost hard to beleive a boat can make it to the beach from where it started 5 or 600kms going past Perth without it being seen/investigated...
Especially up towards Cervantes/Lancellin with all the cray boats that must be out and about...
Thoughts go out to his family and friends...

From what I've read a rope
From what I've read a rope was tangled around his prop shaft, so you could draw a few conclusions from that.

Like you said it's a big ocean
We had a FAD break free from its mooring last year near the trench. It was eventually recovered near the Abrolhos, and spent the large majority of its time between about 40 and 80nm from the coast. Well outside the range of the cray fishing fleets.
