The Dornier has gone back to the airport, don't know if he's finished, but he covered a lot of ground.

Hmmm too much of this going on at the moment. It's a worry as no flares or EPIRB set off from what I understand.

Whales.
There seems to be a few whales out there at the moment, let's hope he hasn't hit one coming back in the dark.
May explain why there was no call or beacon.
Hope he is ok & this comes to a happy end. I'm sure all the departments that are out there will be doing all that is possible to find him.
It's a big ocean out there..
Thoughts & hope are with the family.
Cheers & Stay safe

Heading to Gnaraloo in a couple of weeks and they'll be on the move up there too. Had one breach about 20m from the boat last year and must say it was something to see but a bit unerving too. I just hope this guy is drifting, the conditions have been good albeit bloody cold.

Maybe he went out deep given
Maybe he went out deep given the good weather (and possibly already bagged with a Dhu).
There is an electric reel / deep drop setup in the background of the photo of him in The West article.

Todays search
There wa no sign of the boat at all yesterday and we searched from Mindarie to ledge point and up to 20nm offshore
They have extended the search as far out as the Rotto trench today.
The main issue is there has been no EPIRB activated and we don't know exactly where he went.
Just shows the important of logging on the local sea rescue so we would have some idea where to start looking. Very fustrating when something as simple as this could save a life.

Another fishing brother missing.
Cheers Iceman , you boys do a amazing job when it hits the fan.
We were at C.B when the other guys went missing , talked to them at the ramp on the previous day , so its
something still very fresh in our minds, and its been a bad year for water based activity deaths , what with shark attacks, drownings and boat misshaps.
Its got my kids worried about dad now , in a way I havent seen before , and to quote work place stuff , we all need to be doing
risk assessments our selves before hitting the ocean.
There have been some pretty wild risks taken in some of these misshaps , I will leave it to others to work out what there are,
but as you say , when everything turns to poo, every thing you have done to minimize the impact will help,
e.g making that log on/ log off call, correct safety gear , and knowing you and your crafts limits.
Lets all hope for the best in the search. good luck.

Found ??
Just hear they found a body on the beach near Alkimos. Can't confirm it but a chopper was seen there with divers, police etc.
Anyone hears anything would be good but I hope its not for that reason. Fingers crossed.
Cheers & Stay safe

Scaling back search
ABC radio this morning that the authorities where going to consider scaling back the search for the missing fisho.
Lets all hope that there is a positive sighting of the fisho and he is still alive.
I'm a bit amazed that his boat has not been sighted a lot of aircraft and surface assets have covered a big area looking for him. Fingers still crossed for a positive outcome.

Did anyone see Rohan out on
Did anyone see Rohan out on his boat the day he went missing? He was fishing about 10kms west of direction bank (I think)? They have only found one piece of debris which is with forensics to determine whether this was likely to be from his esky but otherwise they have no clues as to have what happened. If anyone saw anything at all please let me know. Thank you.

Hi all,this is my husband
Hi all,
this is my husband and much loved dad of our two boys. Can everyone please keep an eye out for any debris either in the water or washed ashore in the northern suburbs? It's been over a month now since he disappeared so I'm hopeful some items onboard may begin to wash ashore. Also if anyone knows anything about the brand PM Esky can you please contact me? Thanks
