I feel your pain.
We've got one of the little bastards outside our bedroom window too. Went out one night and found him and took him over the road to let go, but he was back in a couple of days. I know where he is, at the base of one of them minature date palms thingy's, but there are 6" long bloody spines down there waiting to spike me. So it's frog 1 and me 0 at this stage.
cheers

You find the hole then chop
You find the hole then chop the sand with a sharp shovel to aerate the soil. They think it is a different season and go into hibernation hahahahaha

Yip
hear you. We have a pond with heaps of frogs, mostly SW Motorbike variety. But for some reason the melancholic sound off the Moaning frog drives me nuts. And a nature lower by nature Im not going to kill anything just because it anoys me.

You hear orgasmic frogs, consider how lucky you are.
I started going deaf in my late teens, a result of industrial deafness and other problems. While my loss of hearing has plateaued out, I am deaf as a door nail and can't hear outside noise with out powerful hearing aids. I have tinnitus in both ears, the sound of which is very similar to Cicadas chipping in the tropics, or a jet engine roaring. It is way above the everyday noise we hear, including frogs.
I have that noise 24/7 there is no cure and no resprite, I either put up with it or go mad.
If you can hear frogs at night, consider me and appreciate the sound. I cant hear the frogs at night, only loud jet engines, I'll swap with you anytime.

hear what your saying (sic)
my hearing is bloddy hoppless a life time of working in boat engine rooms and in powers stations even though I used the ppe has left me very deaf , did a test earlier this year and hearing aids were going to cost 4k so I decided I would put up with not hearing the wifes nagging

Dogs will have the cats balls for breakfast
They hate them. And since we have at last count 22 native birds and a not so native to WA bunch of Kookaburra's visiting our Property in Parkridge I will personally shoot the cat. Dont get offended cat lovers, just not here.

From the WA Museum article on the net.
Moaning Frogs probably bury themselves in moist sand and aestivate (become dormant) over the hottest summer months. Moaning Frogs are common in and around Perth and are frequently heard calling in gardens adjacent to wetlands, sometimes to the dismay of the residents.
To convince a male 'Moaner' to move on if the call is disturbing a good night's sleep, locate the burrow from the sound and a torch at night. Flood the burrow gently with a bucket or hose each night until the male has moved on.

Thanks all
Wasnt trying to offend anyone and sorry if I did.
Will try the water trick.
Also spoke to a reptile specialist and he offered to give me a female, which should keep him busy, and perhaps moan differently. Happy and quiet!!!!!
