bye
I am not convinced this staggered bye has much benefit ie cats have had a week off and the dockers come off a 6 day break after travelling. If I was betting my money would be on the cats
1 week off for evryon e would make for a fairer competition

. A rest with the pace of the
. A rest with the pace of the modern game is like an extra player. Certain advantage for the team coming off the bye. But everyone I suppose gets the advantage. Its then the luck off the draw who you are against.

12 disposals, 3 marks and 32 hitouts. Not bad for a 15 game ruckman.

bitching about the siren at Adelaide Oval
believes it cost the pies a goal, but more importantly, stated that if the president of Collingwood cant speak with the AFL (which he did, apparently)and get that sorted, then what chance is there

1. pies would have lost
1. pies would have lost anyway.
2. Should be bitching that they couldn't kick for goal (which lost them the match not the siren).
3. If you see the footage the ball is kicked a split second after the clock reached zero. the siren would have sounded about the same time it was kicked so the ball would have been kicked prior to the ump blowing the whistle to call the quarter over. (so if the ump heard the siren the ball would have been kicked prior to whistle so the goal would have stood anyway)!!
Eddy is right on one thing - if he can't sort it then other presidents/coaches haven't got a chance :-(

I think he has a legitimate
complaint, many think the same including me,I'm not sure it was a goal, clearly kicked after time at 0....it was more an insight into his ego, what makes him think he has more pull, than any other president - was the point.

If you look at the other
If you look at the other quarters ending the clock reaches zero and the siren goes about one second later.
Quarter ends when the ump blows the whistle upon hearing the siren not upon clock reaching zero or siren sounding.
Agreed they should do something about it so the ump can hear it over the crowd.
agreed re Eddy - my point was he does "appear" to have more say/pull than others but then again he probably speaks out more than others too!!.

All WC had to do was
To tell woosha to piss off last year and Roo's was all theirs
Just like Freo dished out to Harvs
When they are done they are done time to go if they stuff you around like woosha did to weegirls then push him.
We done Freo good win for the games best player ever.
All Australian full back... on baller...and full forward and a couple more to boot..who has ever bettered this record. Nobody.

Ah mate
how can you possibly think that the way Freo dispatched of Harvey, is something to be proud of - seriously- yes you will say look at where Freo are now....that's good for the club and supporters, but a scum act, and to do it the same day you're club had him represent them externally, f@#+ all to be proud of there, not the mention the back door dealing with another club's coach. Pretty sure, you'd find most,if not all other clubs are more professional than that - simple.
On another note, Freo did play well last night, no doubt.

Dog act? Just like WCE did
Dog act? Just like WCE did to Ron Alexander, John Todd and Ken judge.... I like harvey but the day freo recruited Lyon was the day we grew up and became professional. Cut throat decision for a cut throat competition. Sorry, no room here for subjective decisions, only objective reasoning.

I remember quite well at the time that all your supporters were the ones running around calling it a dog act Randall. I couldn't have given a toot because it was obvious that your club was in sorts of bother and grief and had hit the panic button with no success in sight. Yeah we sacked our coaches but with a little more dignity than that.

I have never called it that. The media got upset because it was handled so well internally that they had no idea. There were no rumors, nothing for them to report on for weeks on end.

I know you really want to believe that deep down, so you don't feel tard with that stain on your club - but the situations are not alike.

Not proud of it, might have been a dog act
but he was asking for it. Harvs made many mistakes and yes got his marching orders. In the end we got a top class coach before anyone eles.
You might be loyal at WC but that wont get you anywhere and your new coach wouldn't blow wind up Roo's arse and so far is looking very average.
WC are playing the same old woosha game [ hasn't he got a plan of his own ] just the same go nowhere type play. JMO
Its dog eat dog these day. No mister nice guys out there in administration as it should be..we should leave the loyalty thing for for seconds.
Eddie started it all when he under minded WC over the Mick deal. Sneaking around behind your clubs back LOL

This is why Freo has improved
Hows this for a line up
ROSS LYON was appointed as the club’s senior coach at the end of the 2011 season. The father of three had been the senior coach for the past five seasons at St Kilda before his appointment, where in 121 games he took the Saints to four finals’ series and three grand finals in two years (including the 2010 drawn grand final).
At 63 per cent, Lyon has the highest winning percentage of any current AFL coach up to the end of 2011 who has coached for more than one year.
His tenure at St Kilda followed assistant coaching roles at Sydney (2004-2006), Carlton (2000-2003) and Richmond (1996-1999).
As a player, Lyon notched up 127 games with Fitzroy over 10 years before a knee injury ended his career in 1995 after a further two games for Brisbane.
Sydney premiership player BRETT KIRK joined the Fremantle Dockers as an assistant coach at the end of the 2012 season.
Kirk worked with Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon and stoppages coach Mark Stone when both were at the Swans.
Widely regarded as one of the most courageous and resilient players to have ever pulled on the boots, he played 241 games for Sydney since making his debut in 1999, including the last 200 without missing a match.
Co-captain of the Swans from 2005-2010, Kirk is a highly decorated and respected figure, whose list of achievements include a 2005 AFL Premiership win, All-Australian selection in 2004 and Sydney best and fairest in 2005 and 2007.
In 2011, he spent six months travelling the world and spreading the word about football as the AFL's International Ambassador.
Kirk is responsible for Fremantle's midfield.
MICHAEL PRIOR joined Fremantle at the end of 2007 as the club’s skills coach. He played a total of 90 AFL games, including 81 with Essendon after being selected number 3 in the 1992 National Draft.
Michael moved to West Coast in 2001 and played nine games in two years before retiring at the end of the 2002 season.
He was East Fremantle assistant coach in 2005 and East Perth Colts coach in 2006 and 2007, winning a premiership in 2006.
He was appointed an assistant coach at Freo at the end of the 2010 season.
PETER SUMICH, a dual premiership player, had been an assistant coach with West Coast for the past 11 seasons before joining Fremantle in 2011.With more than 20 years as a player and a coach at the elite level, including premiership success, Peter will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Fremantle Football Club.
He played 150 games for West Coast from 1989-1997 including the Eagles’ 1992 and 1994 premiership sides and was seven times the club’s leading goal kicker.
Peter also played 112 games for South Fremantle in the WAFL, and was coach of the Bulldogs from 2001-2002.
SIMON LLOYD was appointed as an assistant coach at the club at the end of the 2010 season. He previously managed the Fremantle Dockers’ Development Academy since 2009 and is still a major contributor in that department.
Simon has a wealth of AFL experience, having worked at Hawthorn and Collingwood in key development, leadership and coaching roles before joining Fremantle.
He was at Collingwood from 2005 to 2008 as high performance manager and club psychologist.
Simon was previously at Hawthorn between 1998 and 2004, filling a number of roles including club psychologist, player development manager, development coach and assistant coach of the club’s VFL side Box Hill.
MARK STONE was appointed as stoppages coach for the 2012 season. The father of two has been stoppages coach at the Sydney Swans for the past four seasons.
Prior to that, Mark was stoppage and opposition analyst at West Coast from 2003 to 2007.
He was also an assistant coach at South Fremantle in the WAFL from 2001 to 2002 and senior coach of the Wagga Tigers (1999-2000) in the Riverina Football League.
At the Swans, Mark's responsibilities as stoppages coach included strategic planning and implementation.

Simon Lloyd did all the picking...
Hats off to Lloyd and the team there- they did the recruiting not Mark Harvey!, Harvey was a good step forward but Fremantle Management had the balls to take what they wanted...was it ruthless yes..but then again thats the environment they live and breathe in, Freo supporters got their knickers up in a bunch with the removal but are all very happy now to sit on the couch game day watching Freo take apart teams like Geelong whilst eating a pack of Samboys.
Dont get me wrong I liked Mark Harvey and still do but i am in awe of the current Coach at Freo Ross Lyon and he is delivering what Harv's couldnt.
Give me one good example of a Coach being removed that was all warm and fuzzy? Beethoven had his critics too boy's...
Pavs a bloody hero full stop...300 games and he still has the ability to change games.
