Monday’s catch

Great day out on the water today a few hours north of Perth. Tried hard for a Mackie but it wasn’t to be. Got a nice constellation prize of a few nice SBT, wire traces didn’t scare them off at all.

Got a few good fish off the bottom too with a bag out of 2 baldies and 2 dhuies. My decky outfished me 10-1 today, but at least I caught the biggest fish haha.

Also just finished running in my new motor after my suzuki died on me end of last year. Stoked with the new Yamaha, does 50km/hr at WOT with the boat as loaded as it ever will be, and gave me an average of 2.6km/L for the day.

Cheers Paul

Cheers mate. Boat is a 4.8m

Mon, 2018-03-05 21:13

 Cheers mate.

Boat is a 4.8m quintrex coast runner with a new 70hp 4 stroke Yamaha on the back. At 1st I though the new fuel gauge was playing up coz it barely moved for the day, but then when I filled it up it took bugger all fuel, so gauge works fine, engine is just very economic. I’ve only just run the motor in, but so far very impressed.

That big dhuie came off that 2nd sounder shot which finished off our bag for the day, so we didn’t get to find out what else was lurking down there this time.

The quintrex are great boats mate, regularly fish mine 30kms offshore and have done a dozen trips to the fads over the years in it.

Love to see that type of flarey ground and, like you, I am amazed at the economy of the yammies!

Yeah I got no idea what type of bottom it actually is, but I know that I get excited when I see it on the sounder!
