It shows more and more for the need for compulsory log books for all anglers, be they boat or shore.

Yet companies like Kailis
Yet companies like Kailis are allowed to drag our oceans bare, because they "Pay" for the priveledge, not good enough.
I fish for food to eat, and have only sent one esky of fish south in 15 years.

what worries me more is
what worries me more is going on holiday and catching one good fish over 20kg and thats your quota gone!
I have no problem with a family going norht once a year and bring home 40kg of fillets for a family of 4 or more.
It's when guys do this six times a year and then still freight down frozen esky fulls while still up north too! that speys me!
Last time we went up to Exmouth, we came back with five fish in fillets, mostly caught by me and one by the family, that was our holiday take home and lasted about two months in our house.

The way i look at it is
When i go north, i eat fish every night, that is the bonus of going north. The last trip i did to Gnaraloo, i brought home 1 Spango in fillets, for mum and dad for looking after the dog, and one for the neibhour for getting the mail.
It makes me laugh when i rock up to the cleaning table with one fish every day, and i see the same 2 guys there with 6 big reds every second day, copmplaining how the fishing is crap.
I'm not saying you shouldnt be able to bring fish back, but if thats the only reason you go, save your money, and buy 20kg of fillets from Kailis. Eat like a king when youre there, and leave the rest there for next time.
Only my opinion.
